Get Living and Southwark College bring Careers and Job Fair back to Elephant and Castle

September 4, 2026

Get Living, the owner, developer and operator of The Elephant, is partnering with Southwark College to deliver the annual Elephant and Castle Careers and Jobs Fair, returning on Wednesday 9 September 2026 following the success of last year’s event.

Taking place at Southwark College from 10:30am to 4pm, the fair will bring together employers, education providers and training organisations from across the area, giving local people the chance to explore job opportunities, meet potential employers and discover routes into new careers.

Visitors will be able to explore opportunities including apprenticeships, training programmes, work experience, entry-level roles and further education. Exhibitors include Oliver Bonas, Bird & Blend, the London Fire Brigade and the NHS, offering attendees the chance to speak directly with employers and education providers, access careers advice and discover routes into a wide range of sectors.

Get Living’s community partner, The East London Business Alliance (ELBA), will also play a key role in delivering the fair, supporting The Elephant’s presence on the day and running workshops for attendees. The workshops will provide additional practical support to help local people prepare for and access employment opportunities.

Diana Barranco, Partnerships Director at Get Living, said:

“The Elephant and Castle Careers Fair is all about connecting local people with real opportunities, so we’re proud to be bringing it back to Southwark College for another year. It gives people the chance to meet employers face-to-face, explore different career paths and access practical advice and support.

“Whether someone is looking for their first job, considering an apprenticeship or further education, or thinking about a career change, the fair gives them the chance to meet employers face-to-face, explore what’s available and make valuable connections.”

Scott Peasey, Principal at Southwark College, said:

“We are proud to be hosting the Elephant and Castle Careers and Jobs Fair once again, helping to create opportunities for local people to access good jobs, training and skills. Events like this play an important role in ensuring our community benefits from the continued investment in Elephant and Castle by bringing employers, education providers and residents together in one place.

“The fair also provides a valuable opportunity for Southwark College students to engage directly with local employers, explore career pathways and gain insight into the skills and experience needed in today’s workplace. We encourage people at every stage of their career journey to come along, make new connections and discover the opportunities available to them.”

Beyond the Careers Fair, The Elephant team continues to support local residents, businesses and traders through initiatives including the Community Hub, the annual Inspiring Elephant Community Fund and a variety of community and promotional events throughout the year. These initiatives form part of a long-term commitment to creating a lasting positive legacy for the local community.

Set against the backdrop of the wider £4 billion transformation of Elephant & Castle, The Elephant will deliver 485 new rental homes, including 172 affordable homes, alongside around 40 new shopping, dining, wellness and leisure experiences opening from late 2026. Once fully operational, The Elephant is targeting to support 212 jobs, creating new opportunities for people living and working in the local area.
